We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Walt Disney

One of the most Questions that always pop into my head when I see some new chages in the Tech industry is: “how I could stay up to date with the number of new information, technologies, gadget, software, and hardware shipped every day to the market ?”.

No matter the field you are working on, being so ignorant with changes and things going around you, may lead you to lose your job(God forbid your company decided to use new technology) or even just the fact you are going to be the old guy in the room while talking about tech.

Who’s to blame? the need for technologies and gadget to solve daily problems produced these new waves of innovation and invention around the world it’s just a matter of time.

you can look at the film and the photography industry and how drones changed them plus how a lot of photographers and helicopter pilots in those industries lost their job.

Everyday In fields like web development, data science, and artificial intelligence, new libraries, and framework are shipped to programming languages like JavaScript and Python .

New algorithms and a massive amount of user data are sold to companies, these changes are likely to happen without being aware of it, in case you are a programmer or data analyst.

And the question as I’ve mentioned in the beginning is how you are going to adjust with this headache of new features and stuff thrown to your mind frequently? Fourtentnaly the internet is always here to serve you, through your journey in tech.

So what we are waiting for, let’s see some tips that will you help.

#Sing up to the newsletter in TechCrunch

It’s hard to talk about the Tech industry without talking about TechCrunch (no-no), I’m not promoting anyone here, there’s no point in doing that (just in case you wondered), it already got its place in the industry.

I identify it as the Greatest online publisher, the way it covers all new things in the tech industry (including financial data about startups) is amazing, with options on how you would like to receive newsletter wither you want it weekly or daily.

Plus they have a Twitter account where they post all hot content, there’s one problem here, the company doesn’t provide rich content about what’s going on in programming(and this doesn’t please me too much as a programmer).

#Create a Hackernoon account.

Hackernoon is the place where Tech nerds and professionalists spend their afternoon created since 2016 by “David Smooke, Jay Zalowitz, and Linh Smooke” and to it’s another great online publisher.

You’ll find there almost things related to software development, startups, artificial intelligence, and cryptocurrencies by creating an account you’ll receive daily newsletters.

No matter what you are doing in tech you’ll find your place there, just in case those emails in your inbox did not please too much, you should consider following them in Twitter you’ll enjoy their news feed.

#Limite and specify your content on Twitter

Although I’ve mention Twitter two times let’s talk more about it here. I’m assuming that you have already a Twitter account, you might be active on other platforms of social media like Instagram or Facebook but as someone who wants to consume full content of valuable things, Twitter will be better for you.

Even though Facebook attracts a large amount of visitor, but professionalists and pages post their content in Twitter with fancy and clear and they often engage with their audience there more than they do in any other platform.

But Steps you are going to do right now are:

Limiting the number of people you are following on Twitter, and by that, you’ll find yourself in Advertently giving more time to people and pages that pay you back with knowledge.

Specifying exactly which field of tech you want to see and heard about on Twitter. it’s not interesting for me to stay here and tell you to follow every tech page or account that show -up in Twitter’s recommendation.

The first step always is to get clear about what you want, the amount of information you receive about tech will be overwhelming, so please consider choosing which field fits your interest in tech.

#Visting Hacker News on YCombinator

Launched in 2009 by Paul Graham, Owned by Y Combinator the same concept as Hackernoon and Techcrunch but this time you have to check news manually no newsletter, but it’s awe-beautiful, the website works as a news aggregator you can visit it Here: Hacker News.

You’ll find all important, and relevant things you need to know about the Tech from various resource and links of websites, so you could access those resources, although I don’t highly recommend using it a lot, it’s quite engaging but at the same time, it’s not pleasant for your eyes.

#Customize your Youtube content

Finally, Youtube I know you are visiting it, daily but how are you customizing your Youtube content ? are you subscribing to youtube channels about pranks and Vlogs ! or doing some real things by subscribing to useful people who provide some real content.

Tt’s not appropriate really to mention Youtube here it’s already known, but I would like to say that customizing your Youtube account and content by unsubscribing all channels that don’t pay you back(again) with useful things is the key to make your youtube account a strong place of rich and Helpful information about Tech or anything else, invest in your time so people will find a reason to invest their time on you.

Final thoughts

Having an internet connection and a computer these days is your superpower, in other words, it’s your sword to acquire knowledge, it’s hard to do it these days in a sea of distracting by useless people in social media, so the thing you are going to do right now is Customizing your interest and choosing which things are and aren’t useful for you.

Thank you for reading.
